Montgomery College (MC) in Maryland invites inquiries, applications, and nominations for the position of Senior Vice President for Student Affairs (SVPSA).

Reporting to Dr. Jermaine F. Williams, President of Montgomery College, the SVPSA leads the division of Student Affairs, ensuring the development and success of programs and services that foster student achievement and well-being.

The SVPSA is responsible for overseeing a team of dedicated professionals and collaborating with various campus leaders to create an inclusive and supportive environment that promotes student engagement, retention, and completion.

The Position

The Senior Vice President for Student Affairs (SVPSA) is the senior leader responsible for overseeing the student affairs operations at Montgomery College. Reporting to the President, the SVPSA leads a team of more than 20 professionals, including two (2) Associate Senior Vice Presidents, three (3) collegewide deans, and several directors. The SVPSA ensures the alignment of student services with the College’s mission, strategic plan, and transformational goals.

The SVPSA oversees the development and implementation of programs that support student access, engagement, and success, working closely with other college divisions to create a comprehensive and inclusive student experience. This role also involves collaborating with faculty, staff, and external partners to support the diverse needs of more than 45,000 students, including first-generation college students, international students, and student parents.

The ideal candidate will have an earned doctorate (or equivalent combination of education and experience) with at least five (5) years of experience in student services, such as assessment, advising, financial aid, and student success initiatives. Seven (7) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in higher education is required, with a preference for experience in a community college setting.

Salary Overview
Our competitive salary range for this position is $167,500 to $293,100. Initial salary placement for new hires typically falls between the minimum and midpoint of this range ($167,500 - $230,300), depending on years of experience and alignment with internal equity standards.
