Montgomery College's benefits program includes health, dental and life insurance coverage, flexible spending accounts, pension benefits, income protection in the event of a long-term disability, tuition benefits for the employee, spouse and children of the employee; as well as the wellness program. All full-time and part-time budgeted employees (and their dependents) are eligible to participate in the health benefit plan. The employee and the College share in the cost of the plans.

COBRA coverage is a temporary extension of coverage that applies in certain situations when a loss of health coverage would otherwise occur. The right to COBRA coverage was created by a federal law, the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985.
