Where Extraordinary Begins: MC Convocation and New Brand Launch
We hope faculty and staff were able to take some quality time off during the summer months and are ready for an amazing academic year 2025-26! To kick off the new year with energy, pride, and a bold new chapter in Montgomery College's story, 2025 MC Fall Convocation–Where Extraordinary Begins, took place on Monday, August 25, on the Rockville campus.
Dr. Jermaine F. Williams delivered his State-of-the-College address, celebrating our shared purpose and collective progress, and setting the tone for the new academic year ahead. If you missed it, click here to view the recording.
We have a new brand! Drawing from the voices and ideas of our students, faculty, staff, and community, our new brand was also revealed during this event. Please read the memo dated August 25, 2025, from Dr. Michelle Campbell, Senior Vice President for Advancement and Community Engagement, regarding the College's new brand refresh. Fall 2025 Parking Permits and Transportation Changes
Starting August 18, all employees can apply for virtual parking permits via the parking website. Simply register your vehicle online, and your permit will be activated immediately—no need for physical hang tags anymore, so please discard any old tags. Departments can also request virtual passes for special guests.
Our new License Plate Recognition (LPR) system links the permits directly to your license plate, removing the need to display physical permits or transfer them between vehicles. Parking officers will use handheld devices to scan plates and verify permits, making enforcement quicker and more efficient.
In addition, this fall, Montgomery College introduced four (4) new 24-passenger shuttle buses servicing all locations, including the East County Education Center. For an updated shuttle schedule, visit the Parking and Transportation page.
These improvements are designed to streamline parking management and provide better transportation options for everyone on campus.
For more information, visit the Parking and Transportation page or contact Latisha Dorsey, Transportation and Support Services Manager, Office of Public Safety, Health, and Emergency Management.
