Montgomery College Selected as Recipient of the AAWCC Model Chapter Award
The Montgomery College chapter of the American Association of Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC-MC) has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 Model Chapter Award, a national honor recognizing outstanding programs that support women in community colleges.
The AAWCC Board of Directors presents this award annually to celebrate effective programs that address the needs of women, encourage mentoring experiences, and promote leadership development. The recognition reflects the chapter's commitment to changing women's lives through education, service, and leadership.
AAWCC-MC President Dr. Zenobia Garrison expressed gratitude for the honor, stating, "We are truly honored by this distinction and deeply appreciative of the acknowledgment of our chapter's commitment to changing women's lives through education, service, and leadership development."
Dr. Garrison expressed gratitude to the Montgomery College leadership, including President Dr. Jermaine F. Williams, for their support of the chapter's equity and belonging initiatives. The award was celebrated during the 2025 AAWCC Virtual Annual Conference.

Final Reminder: Sabbatical Leave Applications Due November 14
Sabbatical leave provides faculty with the opportunity to pursue professional development, research, creative projects, or other scholarly activities that enhance their teaching and benefit the College community.
Faculty must submit leave applications and proposals by the deadline on Friday, November 14, 2025. Both documents should be submitted through Workday. If you haven't already, please email your Intent to Apply notification to Leave Request before submitting your application.

Year-End Payroll Reminders: Early Timesheet Deadlines and Tax Statement Updates
As we approach the fall and winter break periods, please note the following important early payroll deadlines and year-end tax information. Late submissions may result in delayed or inaccurate pay.
Early Timesheet Deadlines Fall Break: For the pay period ending Friday, November 21, 2025, all hourly timesheets and time off must be submitted and approved by noon on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
Winter Break: For the All timesheets for the pay period ending Friday, December 19, 2025, all hourly timesheets and time off must be submitted and approved by noon on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
Year-End Tax Statement Reminder Employees must update their Form W-2 election to paper or electronic (recommended) in Workday by Friday, December 19, 2025.

Extended Deadline: Complete the 2025 Benefits Satisfaction Survey by November 25
We've extended the deadline so you don't miss your opportunity to provide feedback. Employees have the additional two (2) weeks until the College closes for Fall Break to participate. The deadline to complete the 2025 Benefits Satisfaction Survey has been extended to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
Your feedback will directly inform future benefits decisions and help identify areas for improvement in our programs. The survey takes just a few minutes to complete.

Nominate Outstanding Staff for 2026 Recognition Awards
The call for nominations is open for the 2026 Montgomery College Outstanding Staff and Staff of the Year Awards, recognizing staff members who exemplify exceptional performance, leadership, and service to the College community.
Outstanding Staff Awards are presented in four (4) categories: • Excellence in Performance • Excellence in Customer Service • Excellence in Innovation • Excellence in Serving Students
Outstanding Staff Awardees receive a one-time payment of $2,000. The Staff of the Year Award honors an individual whose exceptional performance, leadership, and service has broad college-wide impact. This awardee receives a one-time payment of $5,000.

Administrator Leadership Awards Nominations Now Open
Montgomery College is accepting nominations for the 2026 Administrator Leadership Awards, recognizing outstanding administrators for excellence in serving students, leading college-wide initiatives, or innovation.
Nominations must be submitted by an administrator peer or the nominee's supervisor. Staff members wishing to nominate an administrator should partner with an administrator to submit the nomination.
The deadline for nominations is 11:59 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026. The cabinet will review nominations and recommend awardees to the president. Awards will be presented at the Spring Closing Meeting in May.

Part-Time Faculty Hiring Deadline for Spring 2026
Hiring managers, please note that all part-time faculty (PTF) hiring actions for the spring 2026 semester must be completed by Friday, January 16, 2026.
Meeting this deadline ensures new faculty are onboarded and ready for classes starting Monday, January 26, 2026. Departments should complete hiring steps early to allow adequate time for review and processing.
