Payroll:Time Off Guidance for College Closure on Saturday, January 24 through Friday, January 30
Due to the College closure and Code Red status on Saturday, January 24, from 7:00 p.m. to Saturday, January 31, at 7 a.m., please note the following timekeeping guidance:
• Regular staff, department chairs, and administrators: Enter an Operational Status Change Time Off (OSCTO) request in Workday for the affected hours. • Faculty: No action required. • Casual temps and student workers: No work or time entry during closure. No action required, unless scheduled hours were previously entered before the closure, in which these hours must be deleted.
If you had already requested another type of time off for any of these days, then please update it to OSCTO. If you were not scheduled to work, no action is necessary.
Although the college was closed, non-essential employees who teleworked should report their regular hours and OSCTO for any differences. Essential personnel who worked onsite during the Code Red status are eligible for essential pay.
All corrections for the previous pay period ending January 30 will be reflected on the Friday, February 20, pay date. Please complete your corrections by Saturday, February 14, at noon.
Resources for Time Entry can be accessed on the Payroll page of the HRSTM website, under Hourly Timekeeping Resources, then College Closure and Essential Pay Guides:
• Color Code and Holiday Guidance, All Employees, which is available in English and Spanish. • Color Code and Holiday Guidance, Essential Employees by Shift, which is available in English and Spanish.

Second-half term classes begin the week of March 30. Remaining courses that qualify for overload will be paid over four (4) pay periods, with the first pay date on Friday, April 17, 2026, and the final pay date on Friday, May 29, 2026.
Depending on the department’s submission date, the first overload pay date for FTF will be either Friday, February 20, or Friday, April 17, 2026.

Good Faith Consideration Application for 2026–27 Due February 22
Part-time instructional faculty have an extended opportunity to submit their Good Faith Consideration (GFC) application for Academic Year 2026–27. GFC provides eligible SEIU faculty priority consideration for future instructional assignments based on prior teaching history and standing under the collective bargaining agreement.
Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Submissions must be completed online and entered accurately. Late or incomplete applications are automatically disqualified, so faculty should review eligibility, qualifying semesters, and required course information before submitting.
GFC is applied by semester and supports assignment consideration aligned with prior instructional experience. While it does not guarantee placement, it is an important step for eligible faculty seeking continued instructional opportunities.
Read the Application for Good Faith Consideration for Academic Year 2026-27 memo for complete details.

February is Black History Month
February is Black History Month, a time to recognize and honor the achievements, contributions, and lived experiences of Black Americans. It is an opportunity to reflect on history, celebrate culture, and deepen understanding of the individuals and communities who have shaped our society.
Montgomery College Libraries support this observance through a curated Black History Month resource guide featuring books, articles, videos, and digital resources that highlight key moments, voices, and themes in Black history. The Office of Inclusive Excellence and Belonging is also promoting several events this month.
Employees are encouraged to explore these resources, engage in learning opportunities, and reflect on how we can continue to foster equity, inclusion, and belonging across our community.
