Telework and Alternate Work Schedules

Telework

Teleworking is the opportunity to work from home instead of traveling to your College work space. Staff, both full-time and part-time, are eligible as long as they’ve completed the probationary period.

You’ll need permission from the head of your unit to telework, and not all jobs are suited for telework arrangements.

There are some rules you should know about; they’re covered in the telework policy document (PDF, Get Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader.-Link opens in new window.) .  Additional questions may be answered in the frequently asked telework questions document (PDF, Get Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader.-Link opens in new window.) .

Once you’ve been approved for Telework, here are some helpful tips.

Alternate Work Schedule

Alternate work schedules allow employees to work a schedule that meets the college’s needs, while allowing for work-life balance. Some employees use alternate works schedules to reduce commuting time. Others prefer to work longer days in exchange for a shorter work week.

You'll need permission from your administrative unit head for an alternate work schedule, and not all jobs are suited for the alternate schedule.

Here is the official policy for alternate work schedules (PDF, Get Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader.-Link opens in new window.) . In addition, we've prepared a document with answers to some common telework questions (PDF, Get Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader.-Link opens in new window.) .
