National Search: Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations/Executive Director of the MC Foundation
Montgomery College (MC) in Maryland invites inquiries, applications, and nominations for the position of Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations (VP/DAR), and Executive Director of the Montgomery College Foundation.
Reporting to Dr. Michelle Campbell, the Senior Vice President for Advancement and Community Engagement, and with responsibility to the MC Foundation Board of Directors, the VP/DAR leads, manages, and oversees the MC Foundation and the development and alumni relations team.
This position is responsible for leading, collaborating with, and supporting a team of 20 professionals and a 20-member Montgomery College Foundation Board of Directors.

Montgomery College is governed by a 10-member Board of Trustees appointed by the governor of Maryland. The Position
The Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations/Executive Director of the Montgomery College Foundation is the senior leader responsible for the College’s philanthropic strategy and alumni engagement. The VP/DAR leads the 20-member Foundation Board, manages the Foundation’s assets, and ensures alignment with the College’s mission. The VP/DAR will inspire board members through fundraising and advocacy, oversee campaigns, and build relationships with donors to support scholarships and college initiatives.
The VP/DAR supervises a team of 20 across development, alumni relations, donor relations, and foundation finance, guiding them to achieve annual fundraising goals of $6–$10 million. As a senior advisor to the President, the VP/DAR collaborates closely with college leadership to enhance donor engagement and ensure the success of major fundraising efforts, including the current $50 million campaign.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader with a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) and ten (10) years of experience in development, including capital campaigns and major gifts.
