Parchment (Online Transcript Request System)
Overview
Parchment is a transcript service the College uses to manage user transcript requests. Users place a transcript order, data is matched to student records from the Banner Student Information System, and electronic transcripts are sent to the intended recipients. For matched/processed requests, orders are typically delivered within one business day. The Parchment platform is secure, utilizing global security protocols and standards.
Key Features
- Automated Transcript Processing: The automated pipeline begins in MyMC. Students place a transcript order from MyMC, and the order is sent to Parchment. Criteria matching is performed, and the order is either processed or held. Held orders are monitored and reviewed by Parchment administrator accounts to fill these orders as needed.
- Banner integration: Parchment and Banner ERP integration enables the data exchanges/verification necessary to perform automation. The Parchment system can validate data from the Banner Student, Academic History and Financial Aid modules to match orders and direct them in the automation queue.
- Transcript Send/Receive: Parchment allows transcripts to be sent, or received from Montgomery College. Orders can be placed by the student directly, on behalf of the student, from another Institution or from other verified parties.
