Your MC Accounts

MyMC Account Management

The MyMC Account Management portal is designed to be intuitive and accessible while maintaining high security standards to protect your account information. Use the guides below to get started and manage your account with confidence:

Your MyMC ID, M#, and College Email Address:

  • Your MyMC ID is the login username that you use to login to the MyMC Portal. If you do not remember your MyMC ID, you can use the "Find Your MyMC ID" link on the MyMC login page to retrieve it.
  • Your M# is a 9 digit number beginning with the letter "M" followed by 8 numeric characters. The M# is also referred to as the College ID, Student ID, or MC ID.  If you are a new student, your M# can be found on your Student Acceptance Letter.
  • The format for your college email address is "MCID"@montgomerycollege.edu

Two-Factor Authentication

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds a second level of verification to help prevent anyone other than you from logging into designated websites, online services, and select MC applications.  This added layer of security will help to decrease account compromises, identity theft, and provide real-time alerts for password protection.

Upon your first access attempt to one of the College's 2FA protected applications you will be prompted to register your mobile device. For more information on how to register and manage your mobile device, visit the Two-Factor Authentication website.

Generative AI Guidelines and Use Cases

Emerging technologies, such as Generative AI (GenAI), are transforming the way we live, learn, and work. They amplify human potential and play a vital role in driving educational and organizational success. These tools are essential for fostering innovation and advancing Montgomery College’s  mission: to transform lives, enrich the community, and change the world.

Due to the rapid evolution of this new technology, this guidance will serve as a critical resource and updated periodically to reflect material changes to the technology and the risks associated with its use. The College community is encouraged to reference the Generative AI Guidelines and Use Cases website and to open a ticket with the IT Service Desk with any specific questions.

Purchasing Technology

As technology needs continue to grow, OIT provides services and support that promote student and employee success, protect College and personal information, and enhance the overall user experience.

To reduce risk and ensure maximum value, contact OIT before purchasing any technology. All requests for hardware, software, SaaS, or cloud-based solutions must be reviewed and approved by OIT. Once approved, purchases are processed through the Office of Procurement.

OIT and Procurement partner with departments to define business and technical requirements, support the solicitation process, and evaluate security, accessibility, and implementation needs—especially for requests involving:

  • New or upgraded systems or services
  • Integration with existing College systems
  • Sensitive data collection or storage
  • Services used by students or employees

For detailed information on this process and how to get started, visit the Purchasing Technology website.

Data Security@MC online training helps employees recognize common techniques used by cyber attackers to steal account credentials and gain unauthorized access to information systems. The training also provides practical tips and strategies to help you identify, prevent, and respond to these security threats.

The College has partnered with SANS Security Awareness, a trusted leader in cybersecurity education, to deliver online training that is engaging, relevant, and applicable to safe computing both at work and at home. The training consists of several short sections and takes approximately 35 minutes to complete. To receive credit, you must complete all sections and respond to the brief quizzes.

The Data Security@MC: Annual Review includes pre‑check questions at the beginning of the course. If all pre‑check questions are answered correctly, the training is considered complete. If any questions are missed, a personalized training assignment will be generated based on your responses. The training is available in Workday and must be completed by June 30 each year.
