Retiree Health Benefits

Employees who retire from Montgomery College may still be eligible for some benefits through the College and others from Medicare.

Benefit Options

College retirees have the option of selecting health, prescription, dental and vision coverage.  A look at each plan’s details, as listed below, can help you decide.

Caremark Prescription Drug Plans

Montgomery College offers retirees a prescription drug plan.

 

Dental and vision plans

The Cigna preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan allows you to choose your own dentist,

The Cigna Dental Wellness Plus benefit for PPO members continues in 2019. This plan offers an incentive: if an employee or dependent gets at least one cleaning in 2019 they will receive a $100 increase in maximum dollar benefit for 2020.

This plan provides dental coverage under an HMO-like structure, where patients choose a dentist within the Cigna network.

This plan provides coverage based on a predetermined fee schedule with many basic services being covered at NO CHARGE. There are no patient charges for most preventative procedures, no claim forms, no deductibles and no annual dollar maximums. Complex procedures are available at low, pre-set patient charges.

Medicare Coverage

All retirees and eligible dependents age 65 and older are required to enroll in Medicare Part B.  Retirees and dependents are eligible for Medicare Part B the first of the month in which they turn 65.

In addition, retirees may qualify for Medicare Part D Silver Script prescription coverage.
