Montgomery College's benefits program includes health, dental and life insurance coverage, flexible spending accounts, pension benefits, income protection in the event of a long-term disability, tuition benefits for the employee, spouse and children of the employee; as well as the wellness program. All full-time and part-time budgeted employees (and their dependents) are eligible to participate in the health benefit plan. The employee and the College share in the cost of the plans.

Please note that if you are enrolling for the first time or changing your coverage, you need to complete your enrollment through Workday. Please view the Employee Benefits and Leave Overview (PDF, Get Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader.-Link opens in new window.) for additional information.

COBRA coverage is a temporary extension of coverage that applies in certain situations when a loss of health coverage would otherwise occur. The right to COBRA coverage was created by a federal law, the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985. To learn more about COBRA view frequently asked questions (PDF, Get Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader.-Link opens in new window.)   or contact the Benefits Office.

You can also consult the online benefits tool, ALEX to help you consider which options best meet your needs. ALEX provides a summary of your benefits and is accurate to the best of our knowledge, but you should fully review all of your benefits documents before enrolling. ALEX may provide estimates or suggestions, but only you can elect benefits to best suit your needs. This is not an application for enrollment.

Some benefits vary depending on which type of position you have at the College.  Choose your position type to find benefits offered to you.
